Support LiveChord
An indie one-person project. If it's been useful, you can buy me a coffee.
LiveChord is built, run, and debugged by one person on a single GPU server. Every chord detection tweak, every bar alignment, every piano-fingering visual is the result of countless evenings of tuning and rewriting. It's free to use, and the core features are intended to remain freely accessible.
Tipping setup is in progress. If you'd like to support the project, please email [email protected] and I'll reply with the currently available donation methods.
Where the money goes
Total fixed monthly cost is around USD $30, split across three line items:美金 30 元,主要由三個部分組成:
- CPU VPS (FastAPI, SQLite, beat / accompaniment workers) — $17/mo€15/月
- Modal serverless GPU (BTC chord detection) — $3–8/mo, pay-per-use$3–8/月,用多少付多少
- Cloudflare R2 object storage (cover art and other non-audio assets) — $1–5/mo, zero egress fee$1–5/月,免出口流量費
Anything beyond costs goes back into the project: more GPU training time, better beat models, and improved audio analysis features (e.g. stem separation, enhanced harmonic analysis). Every improvement ships as a free update for everyone.
FAQ
Why donate? I can already use it for free, right?
Exactly — staying free is the LiveChord promise. This page is for users who want to say thanks or who want to help keep the project alive. The cost of a coffee is enough to run the GPU for two extra days, which adds up.
Can I get a refund?
Buy Me a Coffee treats donations as one-off gifts, so refunds aren't enabled by default. If there's a serious misunderstanding, email [email protected] within 7 days and I'll handle it manually.
Can you issue a receipt or invoice?
Not currently — this is an individual project, so no formal invoice or tax receipt. Buy Me a Coffee sends an email confirmation that can serve as a personal donation record. For corporate sponsorship, partnerships or commercial licensing, please email me.
